Demijohn News - July 2007
Our News: It has been raining a little since I last wrote and we at the Liquid Deli know a little bit about slippery liquid messes, I can tell you! Luckily our Erskine Market Place Fair, held at Gather in Glasgow at the beginning of June was inside and dry, but the Game Conservancy Scottish Fair at Scone last weekend was a different matter. Despite many attempts made by the clouds to soak us, the fair triumphed and was a great success. We met many fantastic old and new faces. But for those of you caught in the North Yorkshire floods our sympathies are with you. We hope you dry out soon, and certainly soon enough for us to come and entertain you with our presence at this years CLA Game Fair. This years event will be held at Harewood House, a magnificent structure, between Fri 27th to Sun 29th July. We will be performing on stand R109 in the Regional Food section. The organisers certainly had a sense of humour when they decided to place us Scots next to the Waterbuffalo. So, if your hear bellowing while sipping your liqueur do not be suprised! New Products
Corporate gifts and wedding favours seem to be back on the agenda at the moment. In order to compliment our handwritten labels with a more permanent mark, something that might suit a corporate gift, retirement present or wedding favour, we are now able to offer an engraving service for all our bottles. Prices start from as little as £6.50 per bottle, depending on size of order and complexity of the mark, but complex logos and crests are possible. Forthcoming Demijohn Events
Looking beyond the CLA Game Fair in North Yorkshire at the end of July, we will be exhibiting again at Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival at the beginning of September. This years event will be held at Loch Lomond Shores at Balloch on Sat 8th to Sun 9th September. The festival website has full details.
Staff News
Theo Holland and John Elliott retired from their posts in Edinburgh in mid June after many hard hours of work and some great fun moments with us over our full 3 years of operation. Theo leaves us to join Schroders Bank, while John joins the Civil Service, both evidence that Demijohn can be a good start on the career ladder. Good luck boys! Finally, Kirsty Pollock, who joined us in Glasgow last July, has done extremely well to be selected to join a professional dance company for 6 months. We wish her luck with the project and hope she will return to us in December to dance our floors once more.
