It took well over a year to make a final decision on our new house spirit gin, which we have called Demijohnnie Gin, but we think you will be impressed by what you taste.
Created for us by Roy and Penny Lewis of Helensburgh, (just North of Glasgow), this is a fantastically smooth spirit gin despite its strength of 50% abv. Based on a London Dry Gin recipe, the pungent aromatic qualities of juniper are clearly and pleasantly evident.
How is it best drunk?
This is not only a wonderful gin for G&T drinkers or gin cocktail fans, but its strength of flavour means it can be served over ice to sip in a seriously grown up way. If you are as keen on gin as us, then don't forget our other gin liqueurs: Seville Orange Gin, Gooseberry Gin, Sloe Gin, Damson Gin, Blackcurrant Gin, Black Cherry Gin, Cranberry Gin, Wild Bullace Gin and Elderberry Gin.
How is this made?
A gin such as this one which is based on a London Gin recipe is made by the redistillation of pure grain spirit in conjunction with a selection of botanicals for flavouring. The predominant flavouring of gin must be juniper but each boutique gin uses different additional botanicals and we rather like the qualities of this one.
