Q. I would like to give a wedding gift to someone who lives in New Zealand. Do you deliver and what charges would it entail?
A. We can deliver to most countries around the World including New Zealand, however certain rules and regulations will apply to each delivery depending on each countries customs and excise policy. If you would like further details, please email us your order and contact details and we will put together an indivudual quote based on the size of your order. Q. If I want to write my own message on one of your bottles what sort of pen should I use ?
A. We hand write all our labels onto each bottle that we sell for each customer using a special paint pen that is not readily available to buy. As a result, we are also able to write a free message on your bottle should you wish. It takes a reasonable amount of practice and skill to write on glass, so our advice would be to let us write your message for you as you will find it difficult to achieve a simialr result yourself. Please note, our labels are designed to be only semi-permanent so that they can be removed and re-written should your bottles be refilled at Demijohn, as we hope they will be!
Q. How long do your vinegars and oils last? And how long do the alcoholic products last? I would like to buy some for Christmas, but it is only August
A. We advise that all our products are best consumed within 6 months if stored in a cool, dark place. As only natural ingredients are used, the better you look after them the longer they will last and they may well last well beyond 6 months. Therefore if you order in August, our products will still be safe to consume at Christmas.
Q. What days are you open between Christmas and New Year?
A. We are open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Q. I am about to place an order for Xmas presents and have written a personal message with each item, do you write on the bottle what it contains? Thanks, Lorna
A. Yes. All your bottles will have the details of their contents written on them as standard and then an additional personal message if requested. They will also be gift wrapped for free and labelled to identify which is which to save you having to unrwap them on arrival. Happy days!
Q. Help I've just been given a beautiful 1000ml Apotheker bottle full of Ginger Wine, but I cannot get the cork out. It looks like I should just be able to pull it out and its too pretty to use a corkscrew on it and risk breaking the cork...any tips?
A. Great news! Support well and shuggle from side to side and it should come free to release your delicious potion!
Q. What are your shop opening hours?

Q. I live very close to one of your shops and would like to order online and collect my order in person without being charged for delivery. Is this possible?
A.
Yes Our clever new website will allow you to choose from a range of delivery options when you checkout. One of these option includes collecting an order from either our Edinburgh or Glasgow shops for free. You can find directions to Our Shops on this website
Q. How do I know when you are about to run out of something? How will I know that you then have it back in stock?
A. On each product information panel on our website there is category called Stock Availability. It will either indicate stock levels as Good, Low, Very Low, Out of Stock or Coming Soon. If the item is listed as low or very low we are close to running our demijohn dry! If you really want that product badly, you should either order the item immediately or please Contact Us to make a reservation. We can reserve stock for you up to 6 months in advance of it being required as long as you are prepared to pay for the goods at the time of your reservation. If you would specifically like to know when an item is back in stock please Contact Us and request to be informed of when the item is back in stock, or subscribe to our monthly Newsletter which also will alert customers as to when a product returns to our shelves.
Q. When I am buying a product on your website I am offered Buy this or Bottle this. What is the difference?
A. When an item has a button titled Bottle this, the price quoted is for the liquid only and you will need to choose a bottle prior to adding the item to your basket. However, if an item has a button titled Buy this, the price shown is inclusive of its bottle and any other packaging described in the supporting notes. A Buy this product will be added immediately to your basket.
Q. How much are you shipping costs?
A. Our delivery charges will depend on your chosen delivery address and the timescale in which you would like your order delivered. We only ever charge cost price for deliveries so you can be sure that you are getting a good deal! Please read our Mail Order Delivery Charges section for full details
Q. Can I refill my bottle?
A. Yes! We positively encourage all our customers to refill their Demijohn bottles with us! The best part is that your cost will be for the refill only. This equates to roughly a 10% discount without the cost of the bottle, so it makes economical sense to refill as well as environmental sense. Please ensure you clean any bottles to be refilled as best you can with hot soapy water prior to returning. We check all bottles thoroughly before filling and will offer a fresh cork if necessary to ensure the refill is conducted as safely as possible.
Q. I own a beautiful Demijohn bottle but I do not live close enough to simply return and have it refilled. Can I send it to you to refill?
A. Yes of course you can! If you can get your bottle back to us, either by post or someone else dropping it in, and let us know what you would like it refilled with, we will quickly calculate the cost of refilling it and process your order as normal once we have recieved the appropriate payment. Please make sure you give your bottles a thorough clean prior to sending them to us with hot soapy water. We will inspect the bottle on arrival and replace corks as necessary
Q. Can you ship to the United States and Canada or any other delivery address outside of the UK?
A. Yes we can, however certain restrictions may apply for sending some of our products to some countries. Please intially read our online Terms & Conditions and then contact us for a quote and a more detailed breakdown of restrictions that may apply.
Q. Do you sell your Demijohn containers?
A. On occaision we might be able to sell our demijohn containers in small numbers for private use, but this depends on available stock. Please Contact Us to request details of whether this is possible. 1 Gallon demijohns are readily available at most good homebrew shops.
Q. What are those funny icons that appear at the bottom of Products and Recipes?
A. These icons allow you to store a specific page to your favourite Social Bookmarking site. Social Bookmarking allows you to easy store, organise, search and share your bookmarks with others. It is also a great way of centrally storing your bookmarks so you can access them from another PC.
