Our dog Deli, a proud new MotherWho's the Daddy?A seriously good whisky, our new 15 YO Linkwood Single Malt
Our dog, Deli, gave birth to her first litter of pups at 5am this morning.  Hooray, I hear you cry!  But stop right there, the Father has yet to come forward to own up to his unbecoming conduct, so as yet we are stuck on the Father's Day present issue!  Traditionally buying presents for Mothers' Day has always been easier than A healthy way to your Father's heart, 25 YO Traditional Balsamic VinegarFathers' Day and not everyone thankfully has our dillemma.  A plethora of fluffy pillows line our streets in easy reach, but good solid man goods are hard to find.  Be it a seriously good whisky or the more healthy way to your Father's heart, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Demijohn can help!  Take a good look at the Gift Ideas Section of our online shop to see how we have sorted some of the annual Father's Day present issues, assuming of course that Daddy is well known!

Demijohn News - May 2008
Our News: The busy little Month of May has been alot of fun and somewhat of an adventure in parts, aided by some excellent weather just at the right moments.  Erskine Hospital asked me to speak and conduct a tasting for 150 of their finest Ladies at Angus on stage at the Erskine Ladies Lunch in OranMor, Glasgowa fundraising lunch held in Oran Mor, a cleverly converted Kirk close to our shop on Byres Road, on 6 May.  A beautifully hot sunny day meant that when I rolled out our new summer selection of drinks, large tonic and ice filled jugs of our new Organic Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur 22.9% and our infamous Seville Orange Gin Liqueur 26%, it was happily received!  I was very pleased that they broke a record that day for the amount of money raised for Service Men and Women at a single luncheon; our drinks and my talk seemed to be of assistance!  The very next day I ran a corporate tasting evening for Maclay Murray Spens Solicitors for a select group of clients and staff at their impressive new HQ at Quartermile One in Edinburgh.  Once again the weather was on our side and the jugs of orange and rhubarb went down a treat.  The excitements for the month really started, however when the BBC called to ask if they could film in our Glasgow shop.  Not one to flinch in the face of a camera, I shyly doned my best shirt and flirted gloriously!  Demijohn the movie will hopefully be published soon and be an instant box office hit.  I am hoping our new website will be able to let you see it also.  Then it was off to North Yorshire on 20 May, where we ran two events back to back in an attempt to save fuel.  We returned to the beautiful village of Hovingham to take part in the now annual and very successful Army Benevolent Fund Fair.  Not only did the mass bands play, the brave men of 1 Para skydived from helicopters in to the field in front of Hovingham Hall while guests and exhibitors held their breath and drank champagne.  Most exciting, if a little mad!  All thankfully landed safely.  Despite predictions of vile weather, the sun continued to shine in Yorkshire for our second event called The Yorkshire Game Fair.  This new show was held in the impressive grounds of Harewood House, on A61 between Harrogate and Leeds.  As a result of the bad weather predictions and unknown territory I decided to go on my own.  Silly me.  The sun shone, the wonderful Yorkshire folk dececended in their thousands and I sold out of virtually everything.  I returned home a broken, but happy man on the Tuesday!  Having just about recovered, I am just about holding it together for my sponsored talk on Olive Oil in the Food & Whisky School at Channel 4's Taste of Edinburgh event which is being held each day at the moment in the Meadows until Sunday 1 June.  If you are free over the next few days and want to get oily, then I look forward to seeing you there!

Forthcoming Events
We are out on the road a lot in the next few months and may well be coming to a place near you.  We will be exhibiting for the 3rd year running at the Loch Lomond Food & Drink Festival at Balloch on Sat 31 May and Sun 1 Jun.  On the Saturday at 4pm I will also be giving a Big Table presentation on some of our products, but there are some other fabulous attractions at the event if you are in the West of Scotland this weekend.  For the first time we are going to be part of the enormous BBC Good Food Summer Festival which will be held in the NEC, Birmingham between 11 to 15 June.  We will exhibiting on stand F167 in the British Food section.  If you like food, gardening or need something for the home then this is the show for you.  Game fair season is properly kicked off with the Scottish Game Conservancy Fair at Scone Palace, near Perth.  This fanatastic event runs between 4 to 6 July and we will be performing as usual on Stag Row as last year.  If you haven't been before bring welly boots and your brolly, and the sun will shine!  As if that wasn't enough for the Summer, we are finally to have a crack at the Mother of all game fairs, the CLA Game Fair.  This year it will be held at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire between 25 to 27 July.  Some may remember the tragic flooding that prevented our performance at the CLA Fair in Yorkshire last year, let's hope the rain stays away this year!

New Product NewsCockiNess, a delicious cocktail with our new Organic Rhubarb Vodka from Invernesshire
Imagine this, hot sunny Summer evening, BBQ being stoked with fuel, guests gathering, midges behaving, large jug of of our CockinNess cocktail (Organic Rhubarb Vodka, tonic, ice and garnished with a fresh rhubarb stem), chilled cocktail glasses......I will let your imagination do the rest but this could be a great evening!  Need I say more?  More new products can be found in our online shop  Coming soon:  We have just bought a fantastic new cask of 17 year old Clynelish Single Malt Whisky.  This is a cracker, so if you would like to know when it is actually on tap, send me an email.  Also, a new Lemon Vodka from Wales will be with us soon.  Watch out this is a good one.  More in the next newsletter.
