Our News: As I was setting up our stand at Taste of Edinburgh yesterday in freezing winds and driving hail, I did care to wonder whether Summer had simply passed us by? But walking the dogs at 8.30am this morning in bright hot sun and sweating profusely I thought maybe it was back. By 10am the hail had returned.....and so it goes on. The good news is, and I am the eternal optimist  of course, that despite the inevitable misery of changing British seasons, we are actually in for a scorcher of a Summer. And like FIFA planning the ball supply for the World Cup so we at Demijohn have gone out of our way to stock our salad bar and drinks cabinet with an awe inspiring array of delicious creations. There is no better Summer drink than our new Grapefruit Vodka, and if you have yet to try this marvellous creation, with its unimaginably smooth taste, you really need to drop in soon. Mixed as a cocktail drink, our Grapefruit Vodka Mojito is certainly worth an experiment! But drinks are only one side of the equation as salad season is  upon us. Our delicious new Damson Vinegar is now in stock after a few months of tough development with a very capable producer, Lin Whitehead from Warwickshire. It has a clever balance of taste, and is quite unlike any of our other fruit vinegars. Plummy yet dry, with a pleasant vinegar sharpness. Its strong flavour makes it excellent for dressing strong flavoured green leaf salads with olive oil or using in cooking to strengthen the flavour of sauces. Still on the vinegar tack Team Demijohn are soon to head for the local hedgerows again to pick this years crop of elderflower for our irresistible Elderflower Vinegar. Watch this space for the full picking story as it evolves!
York Spring Tasting Evening Offer
 Our last Spring Tasting Evening will be held in our York Shop at 11 Museum Street on Friday 11 Jun 2010 between 6.30pm and 8pm and there are now only a couple of places remaining if you would still like to take part. The normal cost of our standard tasting evenings would be £11.50 per person, however participation will be FREE for invited guests only. If you would like to be invited to attend an evening please email me at info@demijohn.co.uk as soon as possible with your full contact details and choice of dates in priority order. All applications will be responded to, however allocation of limited places will be made on a first to respond basis.

Staff News
Firstly congratulations go to Julia McKinlay on her promotion to the post of Assistant Shop Manager in our York Shop. Julia joined us shortly after the launch of our York Shop in September 2009 after graduating from Glasgow School of Art with no less than a 1st Class Honours degree and returning to her native home of York. We are very lucky to have her as part of the team and are making good use of her many creative talents! Secondly, we are recruiting again for a Part Time Staff member to join our York team.
