Our News:
 Like everything at Demijohn, there is a good story behind the creation of our new cocktail drink, Edinburgh Apple Royal, and it all started with our annual Staff Christmas party. This year the gathering was held in our Glasgow Shop on Tuesday 8th February. Despite noises of "it can't be done," emanating from the Team, we managed to sit down 20 for dinner in the shop. Delicious food was provided by our good neighbour Heart  Buchanan and of course we did not struggle to find a healthy supply of fine drinks and salad dressings! The theme for the night was "A Twist on Burns" and those in attendance were not only encouraged to perform acts of poetry and music, in keeping with the tradition of Burns, but they were also encouraged to wear an item of fake hair! The result was somewhat colourful as you can imagine. But lacking in inspiration for a new cocktail for the forthcoming Royal Wedding, I decided that we should have an inter shop competition for a Royal Wedding cocktail. The prize for the best  cocktail was relief for the creators from the fake hair they were wearing for the remainder of the party. So, competition on the night as you can imagine was stiff, but Demijohn Edinburgh won with their fabulous creation Edinburgh Apple Royal, a fitting and appropriate drink for even the finest ceremony and certainly a good drink to mark the forthcoming Royal Wedding. By watching Demijohn York perform Demijohn Sings the Blues, you too will get a taste of the evening for yourself. May it brighten your winter days!
