FROM THE OLIVE GROVE TO DEMIJOHN - THE NEW 2008 OLIVE OIL HARVEST ARRIVES

A Strauss 500ml bottle of freshly pressed Villa Montalbano Extra Virgin Olive OilDemijohn have had another first with the rapid arrival of this year’s Tuscan Villa Montalbano Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Picked on 4 November, pressed and literally rushed to Scotland Demijohn are the first suppliers to be selling 2008 Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

From Villa Montalbano, near Pistoia, this exceptional oil is so fresh and new that it is luminescent green in colour and has the most fabulous concentrated fresh grassy taste imaginable, with an explosive pepper flavour at the end.

Demijohn are particularly excited about this new arrival as last year’s harvest at the Scottish owned Montalbano failed due to poor growth from lack of rain. However, the 2008 harvest is deemed to be better than ever.

Demijohn Owner Angus Ferguson says: “We have been long awaiting this 2008 harvest, having had such a dearth of good Tuscan olive oil from any estates last year. To have olive oil that is only a few days old is something very special indeed so this is a great first. But given the demand for such a quality olive oil it won’t be around for long so don’t delay in purchasing!”

The olive oil is perfect for drizzling over salads or bruschettas. It is priced from £3.40/100ml.
