KIBBLE PALACE OPENS UP IN AID OF MAGGIES GLASGOW FOR SPECIAL CHRISTMAS FAIR

Broadcaster Kirsty Wark is to open the first ever Christmas Fair at Kibble Palace in Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens in aid of Maggie’s Glasgow. Opening on 1st December at 5.30pm this unique show is the only Christmas fair of its type in the West End, with many local businesses exhibiting.

Organised by Demijohn, the liquid deli from Byres Rd and CHUFFS present ideas, the Fair offers a great Christmas shopping opportunity as well as supporting a worthwhile local charity. More than 20 exhibitors will be there with goods such as edible delights from Heart Buchanan, to linens and bedroom & bathroom accessories from The Linen Story to Fairtrade fashion accessories from Saffron Winds and Alpaca fashion accessories.

The Fair will be on from 5.30-8.30pm on 1st Dec, where cocktails will be served by Demijohn and then on 2nd Dec from 10am-4pm. This is the first time that the newly refurbished Kibble Palace will play host to such a Fair and its stunning glass domes and botanical plants will provide an excellent backdrop for some fun Christmas shopping.  Even parking is easy with free parking on Queen Margaret Drive.

The Fair was devised by Angus Ferguson of Demijohn who, like other West End traders wanted to give something back at Christmas and bring Christmas to this attractive part of Glasgow. With Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre being such a vital part of the West End, it is fitting that it will benefit from donations. As well as a prominent broadcaster Kirsty Wark is also a Maggie’s Centre Patron.

Demijohn is the UK’s first liquid deli selling delicious spirits such as Raspberry Vodka, Grapefruit Vodka and Gooseberry Gin, as well as a range of interesting oils and fruit vinegars. The products are stored in large glass demijohns with customers encouraged to taste before buying. From there they choose the size and shape of re-useable bottle which can then be re-filled when empty. Demijohn will be getting Kibble Fair customers in the mood by serving a few of their unique drinks as cocktails, such as The Erskine, a marmalady tasting Seville Orange Gin liqueur & tonic with mint, and the succulent Demijohn Dark Mojito using their Glaswegian spiced rum liqueur on 1st Dec.  Cocktails will be served free to those attending.
