How is this made?

All Colin and Phyllis Hingston’s fruit gins are based on a family recipe dating from 1842 and they have developed it to include this marvelous whole fruit gin which was awarded a Gold Award at the The Great Taste Awards 2005. It was their homemade fruit gins that inspired Colin and Phyllis to sell up their former business, a successful Deli, in favour of making liqueurs. After handing out their homemade fruit gins to their then customers at Christmas, they realised they had a growing demand that needed to be satisfied. They sold up the Deli and now make a number of wonderful liqueurs including the delightful Blackcurrant Gin and delicious Sloe Gin which we also stock.

Tasting Notes
The Hingston's have created yet another masterpiece from their Worcestershire Farm, an extremely well balanced Seville Orange Gin Liqueur. The creators of both our Blackcurrant Gin and our Sloe Gin, have conjured up yet another unbelievable level of sophistication in a drink. At first one can sense a ....moren overwhelming aroma of orange, followed (when compelled to taste) a distinct yet subtle citrus sharpness mixed in with sweet juniper overtones. In their clever way they have kept the sharpness of the fruit, yet sweetened it just enough to harness perfectly that fine taste with London Gin. We feel particularly proud to have been part of the development of this liqueur. It takes nearly a year to create and mature, and such is their perfection, they are always determined that it should not be released for consumption until it was entirely to their satisfaction! This is the determined prerogative of master liqueur makers. To all those customers who have had to wait patiently for its arrival, your temperance will have been rewarded as it most certainly has been worth the wait!
