Blackwood 60% abv Vintage Gin

QuestionHow is this made?
Unusually made using barley spirit, once again Blackwood’s have cleverly used the naturally occurring botanicals of Shetland to define this gin’s character. Botanicals such as Wild Water Mint that grows freely around the lochs of Shetland; Meadowsweet that give the gin a floral note; Sea Pink flowers that grow profusely on the island cliff tops, give this gin its unique flavour and distinctive colour, a beautiful translucent green. Triple distilled to 60% proof, this is the World's strongest Vintage Gin ever produced. Surprisingly however, instead of being coarse like you might think a strong spirit like this would be, it is smooth and pleasing to taste, with an aromatic blast of fresh coriander to die for. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gin

Tasting Notes
This delightful product has been temporarily out of stock due to a production issue, but the really great news is that it is now back in stock!  This is a really fine product that is unlike any other gin on the market today! When we first took it on in 2006 we wondered if Blackwood’s could ever make a better gin than their 40% Vintage Gin, (that we also stock).  ....moreAmazingly it was, much better in fact! Once again they have cleverly used the naturally occurring botanicals of Shetland to define its character. Gin lovers, all, you must try this, for once tasted it will never be forgotten. A little crushed ice is all it needs, although it does stand up well to good tonic to make a long drink, and it is fabulous for a dry martini. Blackwood's have done themselves proud and while others will try to follow we are sure, theirs is still the winning horse! If you like Gin, we have many other types available, ranging from a Seville Orange Gin 26% from Worcestershire to a Damson Gin from East Lothian.
