  • Q. How do you add a handwritten message to an online order?
  • A. To let us know you would like a handwritten message on a bottle within your online order, please simply detail what you would like written in the notes field on any product page. If you would like a handwritten message added to a gift card within your order, please annotate your message in the notes field in your online basket, prior to checking out. To find the gift card notes field, locate your online basket in the top right of your screen and then scroll down to the bottom of your basket. Please be aware that for gift sets with multiple bottles or hampers we will normally add your message to only one bottle within a gift set unless you instruct us otherwise. If your message requirements are very complex then please contact us immediately after placing your order to provide more detail on your personal message requirements.
  • Q. Do you ship to the United States and Canada?
  • A. Yes we can, however certain restrictions may apply for sending some of our products. Please intially read our online Terms & Conditions and then contact us for a quote and a more detailed breakdown of restrictions that may apply.
  • Q. How long do your products last?
  • A. We advise that all our products are best consumed within 6 months if stored in a cool, dark place. As only natural ingredients are used, the better you look after them the longer they will last and they may well last well beyond 6 months.
  • Q. What are your shop opening hours?
  • A. All our shop opening hours and directions to them are listed on our Store Opening Hours page.
  • Q. Can I place my order online to then pick it up in one of your shops?
  • A. Yes. Our clever new website will allow you to choose from a range of delivery options when you checkout. One of these option includes collecting an order from our main outlet at Glenlair Steading for free. See our in-store collection page for more details.
  • Q. How much are your shipping costs?
  • A. Our delivery charges will depend on your chosen delivery address and the timescale in which you would like your order delivered. We only ever charge cost price for deliveries so you can be sure that you are getting a good deal! Please read Shipping page for more details.
  • Q. Can I refill my bottle?
  • A. Yes! We positively encourage all our customers to refill their Demijohn bottles with us either via any of our shops, or by using our new mail order refill service. The best part is that your cost will be for the refill only. This equates to roughly a 10% discount without the cost of the bottle, so it makes economical sense to refill as well as environmental sense. Please ensure you clean any bottles to be refilled as best you can with hot soapy water prior to returning. We check all bottles thoroughly before filling and will offer a fresh cork if necessary to ensure the refill is conducted as safely as possible. You can also use our Mail Order Refill Service and send your bottles back to us to refill, either by post or by using someone else to drop them in to one of our shops.
  • Q. How do you package your products for mail order delivery?
  • A. We use an environmentally friendly combination of protective packing materials to ensure all goods arrive safely and in perfect condition. This includes a corn starch space filler, that look like wotsit crisps (please don't eat them!), cardboard roll, biodegradeble document enclosed slips and paper packing tape with a biodegadable glue. All in all this makes our delivery service as plastic free and low impact as possible.
  • Q. Can I order now for a delayed delivery date closer to Christmas?
  • A. Yes! If you would like your order delivered on a particular day, for example closer to Christmas, please either include your delayed delivery date instructions in the "Special Delivery Instructions" notes field when you checkout online or send us an email once you have placed your order. Please remember to include your Order Number when making contact by telephone or email.
  • Q. How long can my handwritten message be?
  • A. Your free hand written message can actually be as long as you wish. However, there is a practical limit on how much we can actually write on your bottle depending on its size. So please be reasonable and we will do our best accomodate your wishes. Normally a short message of about 10 words or less is all that is necessary. Remember it is the thought that counts!
  • Q. Are we able to buy your products if we were to bring our own bottles bought from elsewhere or do you only fill or refill bottles you have sold?
  • A. We only refill bottles purchased from Demijohn in order to comply with current UK Health & Safety Guidlines and Trading Standards. Demijohn bottles being returned for a refill should be a clean as possible. We will check the bottle for clenliness prior to refilling, remove any labeling and replace the cork if necessary.
  • Q. Do you only deliver your products in new bottles or do you have any other packaging that products can be delivered in so that I do not have to buy the bottles again?
  • A. We now have a 3 litre container that can be filled with any of our products and delivered to you so that you can then refill your Demijohn bottles at home. The bonus is that there is no charge for our 3 litre container, you will only be charged for its contents, so you will save about £3-4 per bottle.
  • Q. How can I redeem my gift voucher online?
  • A. You can redeem your Demijohn gift voucher online as follows. Place your order online in the normal way, including making an online payment for the full amount or make a card payment over the telephone. Once your online order is complete, contact us to let us know that you wish to redeem a gift voucher. We will need to verify your gift voucher and its amount, so please have your voucher to hand when you make contact. Once our checks are complete, we will then refund or adjust your payment as necessary with the amount shown on your gift voucher and complete your order.
  • Q. Am I able to buy your bottles empty?
  • A. No. We do not normnally sell our bottles empty, so you must first choose a product to fill your bottle with in order to check out. However, we will consider applications for bulk purchase of our glass bottles on a case by case basis. Please contact us for further details and a quote.
  • Q. How will my label and message appear on my bottle?
  • A. We hand write all our labels onto each bottle that we sell for each customer using a special paint pen. As a result, we are also able to write a free message on your bottle should you wish. Please note, our labels are designed to be only semi-permanent so that they can be removed and re-written should your bottles be refilled at Demijohn, as we hope they will be!
