Our Gooseberry Whisky Liqueur 18% has been bottled it in our handsome Herbalist 500ml bottle. Pairing the amazing flavour of a British Gooseberry with a good Scotch Whisky has produced a interesting and unique, unsweetened drink.
It has the distinctive taste of both Gooseberry and Scotch Whisky, with a tendency to be sour. It is more like a dry white wine than a sweet liqueur giving an intriguing explosion of flavour in the mouth.
This unusual drink could make a fabulous gift for whisky lover, either at Christmas or a whisky drinking Father on Father's Day.
How is it best drunk?
Experimentation with new and interesting ways to consume this amazing drink is an ongoing process here at Demijohn. However, our current favourite way to enjoy it is mixed with ice or served long with soda and lemon.
How is this made?
Our Gooseberry Whisky Liqueur is made by infusing British Gooseberries in Single Malt Scotch Whisky. There is no added sugar – just an amazing, totally unique flavour.
Anything else I should know?
Gooseberries are known in our family at "Goosegogs" and we are lucky enough to grow them in our garden! There are over 100 British varieties of these small yet versatile prickly fruits.
