Glenlair Feastival - Sat 17 August 2024

Glenlair Feastival will take place on Sat 17th Aug at Glenlair Steading, the new home of Demijohn.

Expect a glorious Summer day on the farm, with live music from The Tatties Ankles, The Aberlady Sessions and solo artist Marcus Thompson, delicious food from Passing Place Pizza and their wood fired pizza oven, dollops of local Glen Urr Ice Cream and awesome drinks from Demijohn to help us celebrate Demijohn's 20th Birthday!

Glenlair Feastival is the first of it's type in Galloway. An outdoor, family friendly event that combines local live music, with excellent food and our legendary Demijohn Cocktail Bar within the beautiful rural farm setting of Glenlair Steading.

It is set to be a feast of Summer music, food and drink as well as an epic birthday party. So get ready to rock Glenlair Steading, it is time to get excited!

When will it be held?

Glenlair Feastival will be held between 12pm and 6pm on Sat 17th August 2024.

What can you expect?

Glenlair Feastival will be full of happy, friendly people enjoying a variety of live music perfomances from local folk bands and artists, with sing along hits that will make you want to get up and dance!

If you "live to eat" like us, then you will also enjoy Glenlair Feastival for its food and drink. We have lined up some great local food to compliment our amazing range of unique Demijohn drinks and cocktails, making for happy times.

And as if that isn't enough, our new store within Glenlair Steading will also be open from 10am for the duration of the festival for free tastings of our unique range of handmade, sustainable food and drink.

Live Music Line-Up

We have booked a spectacular line-up of talented musicians to perform live at Glenlair Feastival, giving us a variety of folk, soul and sing along popular indie hits: 

• The Tatties Ankles - This lively local 5 piece folk & ceilidh band from Cumbria were formed between firesides and sessions in Cumbria. They play a mix of original tunes and traditional music from Britain and America with banjo, fiddle, bodhran and close vocal harmonies. The music reflects their landscape and lifestyle, imbued with a keen thirst for nonsense lyric. Expect the unusual!

• The Aberlady Sessions - Formed during the 2020 lockdown, The Aberlady Sessions are an 8 piece band of talented musicians from Aberlady in East Lothian that perform soul and popular covers from the decades. Their lively style will have everyone jumping and screaming for more!

• Marcus Thompson - Marcus is a very talented, soulful singer-guitarist specialising in unique acoustic renditions of modern pop songs and old-school pop and soul classics. Marcus studied at the Conservatoire of Leeds then took his performances to the USA for 2 years before settling in Scotland’s capital. Performing covers of artists such as Harry Styles & Taylor Swift to Destiny's Child & Earth Wind & Fire. Expect a fantastic repertoire of popular hits that will make you want to get up and dance your legs off!

Car parking is free of charge. Overflow parking will be in a field. Vistors park at their own risk.

By car, we are roughly 10 minutes North of Castle Douglas, 20 minutes West of Dumfries, 1 hour from Carlisle or 2.5 hours South East of Edinburgh or 1.5 hours South of Glasgow.

Please be aware that we are covered well at Glenlair Steading by the EE mobile network, however, there is little coverage with some of the other network providers.

Guest wifi will be available at the event on request.

Facilities - Getting around Glenlair Steading & Seating

The terrain in and around Glenlair Steading may not be suitable for visitors with certain medical conditions. We advise you to wear practical footwear and to be aware that it could be difficult to move around freely and easily due to uneven surfaces, grass and gravel. While there will be some seating provided, due to the nature of the event there may not be enough seating for everyone at all times. If you feel you may need to sit please bring your own camping chair or ask a member of Staff for assistance.

*Event Terms & Conditions:

The following unique terms apply to Glenlair Feastival:

• Access - Please note access to this event is by ticket only. Places to attend are limited on a first come first served basis. Tickets will be checked on arrival. A ticket receipt must be shown (on a mobile phone or a print out) to gain entry to the event. 
• Age Restrictions - To gain entry to the event, all persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an Adult (+18). All persons under 25 years of age must have proof of ID.
• Cancellation & Refund Policy - In the unlikely event of Glenlair Feastival being cancelled by the organiser, Demijohn Ltd., prior to Sat 17th Aug 2024, a full refund will be made for any tickets sold. Requests for individual ticket refunds made prior to 15th July 2024 will receive a 100% refund. Refund requests made after 16th July 2024 will receive a 50% refund only.
• Pets - We love pets at Glenlair, so dogs that are well behaved and under control are most welcome. However, due to Glenlair being a working farm with livestock in our fields all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
• Behaviour, the final word - If you, your children or your pets misbehave at Glenlair Feastival you will be politely asked to leave at which point you will forfeit the cost of your ticket and right of entry to the premises. Your name will also be added to our refusals book which may then prevent access to future Demijohn events. You have been warned!
