Rhubarb & Ginger Cordial, handmade from British rhubarb and ginger. This delicate cordial, with its subtle hint of ginger, is the perfect answer for your modern lunch, dinner or drinks party, where half of your invited guests need an exciting non-alcoholic drink to really make them feel part of your party. Our Rhubarb & Ginger Cordial is designed to be mixed into a long drink and is all about the ingredients, so deliberately not too sweet.
How is it best used?
Our cordials are very concentrated. Mix a single 25ml measure of cordial with at least 250ml of either tap water, soda water, or tonic water to make a fantastic long and refreshing drink. Use plenty of ice with slices of lime, lemon and other fruits to create delicious cocktails or non-alcoholic "mocktails". Try our Rhubarb Bellini for example. Our favourite method of preparation for our Rhubarb & Ginger Cordial is to create a proper drink using either soda water or tonic, ice and a slice of lime.
Rhubarb & Ginger Cordial can also be used in many recipe ideas, such as our Rhubarb Ice Cream.
How long will it last?
Our cordials are made of only natural ingredients, with no preservatives. If unopened and kept in a cool, dark place they should be safe to consume up to 6 months from purchase, or prior to the BBE (Best Before End) date shown on the bottle, which ever the earlier date. However, once opened the cordial should be refrigerated and consumed within 4 weeks.
Anything else I should know?
Frances and I have been deliberating on introducing a range of cordials to our Demijohn selection of drinks since we started in 2004. Finally, in early 2016 we discovered a little known micro producer called Charlotte Grant who not only is immensely passionate about making cordials, has a magical skill. Charlotte has been making amazing cordials from hedgerow ingredients gathered in and around her Suffolk home for a number of years. This cordial is part of our range of non-alcoholic drinks which we plan to expand over time.
