Our Rhubarb Balsamic Vinegar and Basil Oil Pair is the perfect duo for those who love the tangy sweetness of rhubarb and the herbaceous notes of fresh basil.

How is this best used?

When used together, this balsamic vinegar and rapeseed oil will elevate your dishes with its sophisticated twist of rhubarb and basil. Together, this pair makes for a unique vinaigrette that suits all kinds of salads and soups, plus, it is great for dipping crusty breads into and spreading over sandwiches and wraps. 

If you like roasted vegetables, try glazing the pan with the vinegar while frying a medley of chopped vegetables. The results are a delicious caramelising effect on the roasted chunks. Vinegar Spritzers are all the rage currently and so it should come as no surprise that you can make a mean Rhubarb Vinegar spritzer by adding a dash to glass of sparkling mineral water and ice.

As a result of rapeseed oils natural high burn point, our Basil infused Rapeseed Oil is excellent when frying or roasting vegetables and meats alike. This oil is also fantastic for making marinades and dressings with our range of locally produced fruit vinegars.

We have experimented with roasting and frying vegetables in a mix of a little rapeseed oil and a little fresh strong Extra Virgin Olive Oil such as our Villa Montalbano, the combination not only improves the taste dramatically, but it will allow cooking without burning at a much higher temperature.
