Limoncello can be drunk before or after an evening meal, however traditionally in Southern Italy it is also enjoyed with a strong mid morning coffee. It is excellent for drinking with sweet puddings or even pouring over ice creams or sorbets. It can make a wonderfully refreshing long drink when mixed as part of our Lemon Weegie Cocktail.
The drink of Limoncello originated in Southern Italy where lemons are plentiful and pure alcohol was freely available from a local chemist to make it. Our Limoncello is an excellent play on the traditional recipe and made for us by Hilary Blackford in Cirencester, Gloucestershire also using a pure spirit base to make an exciting British version of the old Italian favourite. Hilary also makes our unique Grapefruitcello Liqueur for us, something also worth trying if you are a Limoncello fan.
